ENHANCE CONSCIOUS DREAMING

THE CHALLENGE

We found out that the dream- app-market was in lack of a product that fulfills the principles of design thinking. Benchmarking showed us that apps available were not empathic, usable and mostly, were not joyful to use.

Our challenge was to apply design thinking to create a joyful and beautiful app that enhances the values of a brand that fosters peaceful dreaming.

COMPETITORS RESEARCH

I decided to start this project doing a small UX research using our competitors screens. This way we understood user behaviors and prioritized features that needed a path optimization. With this input we created initial wireframes and tested with users while they were sleeping.

COMPETITORS SCREENS

Research showed us users didn’t have easy access to the features they needed right on time. For example to easily record a dream at the moment they wake up. Users needed short, and easy copywriting with clear icons, because most of times they were using the app with a blurred vision at the moment they open their eyes.

BRANDING RESEARCH

User inputs showed us an essential part of the lack of joy of current apps was their branding and design system. Features were good enough, but they were bad mapped and the branding experience mostly evoked a dark and sad sleep.

We used this as an input for color selection, typography, logo and UX writing.

UI CONCEPT

Once we had mapped the user journey and defined our brand communication, we delivered the UI concept and a high fidelity prototype, here are some screens and a Figma prototype:
